Meet Our Talented Staff
The Hair Station has been operating for over 40 years, and Joy has been a part of it since 1978. Joy started working under her aunt, Cindy (Poe) Wilson, as an apprentice. After working for Cindy for eleven years, Joy purchased The Hair Station in 1989- and is still owning and operating the shop. Ever since the days of her Barbies having their own hair salon, Joy has loved everything about hair.
Joy believes that exceptional work and service are to be expected, but having the best quality products can make a huge difference. She does just that, she prides herself in providing high quality products to her clients. Over the years, continuing education and constantly moving forward, have kept her motivated and eager to help others. From competing in state level competitions to a continuing education through Pivot Point, located in Chicago, IL- Joy has stayed passionate about new and old techniques. She isn’t only licensed to do hair, but she also has a license to teach new and upcoming stylists! When kids are trying to figure out what they want to do in life, Joy often asks them what they enjoyed doing when they were younger, and tells them to pursue their passion.
Currently, Joy lives on Brandy Patch Farm in Browntown, with her cats, dogs, cows, and one wonderful husband- Warren B. Fairfax.
Starting as a shampoo girl in 1982, Tammi has been with The Hair Station ever since she was sixteen years old. A great hair stylist has emerged since her apprenticeship under Cindy Poe. From Rat Tails to Mohawks, Tammi has seen and done it all. She has been known to use every tool on one haircut: scissors, razor, and clippers. Cutting is one of her specialties, along with color.
Now a grandmother she enjoys spending time with her husband Billy, sons Luke, Joseph and their families.
Handling her clients with such care and patience, Deb likes to take her time to ensure things will be correct the first time. The Hair Station has a substantial amount of respect for this lady making a comeback and perusing her passion with hair. Deb has been with the Hair Station for over 10 years.
Working Wednesday- Friday, Deb keeps busy at home with her full house. Living with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter- it’s never a dull moment.
